3rd grade Identity / Symbol Hands





How is art personal?  Why do certain cultures have traditions?  What cultures use Henna body art as a way of celebrating?  How can you make your art personal, unique? 

Students discussed the cultural tradition of Henna as body art.  Students created designs using symbols that communicated things about their personal identities.

Kindergarten






Kindergarten students began their first lesson by reading The Spider Weaver by Margaret Musgrove and Julia Cairns. Students also read The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle. Students used many lines and shapes to create a colorful spider web, complete with collage spider.
